How did you consult on the Bill

In creating the Bill we have undertaken two extensive rounds of community consultation for the Review of the Disability Services Act 2011 (Tas) and on the draft Disability Inclusion Bill 2023.  More information about how we consulted is available here: https://www.dpac.tas.gov.au/divisions/cpp/community-and-disability-services/disability-inclusion-bill-have-your-say

During these consultations we received a great deal of valuable feedback. This feedback has been used to create the Disability Inclusion and Safeguarding Bill 2024.

We will continue to consult with the Tasmanian Community in implementing the Act once it is passed.

What happens next

The Bill will be debated in the Tasmanian Parliament during 2024.

We will keep people with disability, people who support them and advocate for them and the broader community up to date with the develop and progress of new legislation.
