Resilience and Recovery Tasmania (RRT) develops, coordinates and delivers strategic projects, programs and policies that reduce Tasmania’s exposure to the impacts of disasters and enhance the State’s response and recovery capacity.
RRT partners with its stakeholders to lead priority work on Tasmania’s recovery from disasters and emergencies. The unit works closely with emergency services, all levels of government, nongovernment organisations and the community to develop and implement comprehensive and integrated strategies for emergency prevention, preparedness, response, and recovery, to continually build the State’s resilience to all hazards.
RRT builds a more secure and resilient Tasmania by prioritising national security and adopting an all-hazards approach to emergency management arrangements. This is done by leading key policy, planning and legislative roles across all phases of the emergency management spectrum.
RRT contributes to national emergency management and recovery policy development and are the custodians of TasALERT, the Tasmanian Government’s official source of emergency information and warnings.
The Isolated Communities Resilience Grant will provide funding to Tasmanian local governments to purchase physical resources and equipment to support communities at risk of becoming isolated during an emergency.
Grants of between $5,000 and $40,000 are available.
This grant is open to Tasmanian local governments. Interested community groups can develop proposals for projects in partnership with their local government.
More information is available in the Grant Guidelines (PDF 1.0MB). To submit an application go to SmartyGrants.
Applications close at 2.00pm on 15 September 2024.
